Thirty years embroidering Chelmsford

To celebrate 30 years of the Chelmsford branch of the UK Embroiderer's Guild, we held a small party.

We had an exhibition of work - a huge variety of styles and techniques.

The Mayor of Chelmsford attended to make the proceedings a little more special.

And there was food - not least of all a very special cake.  Here the cake is being cut by the mayor and some of our founding members.

  1. Congrats to all.... how long have you been a Member, Janette?

  2. It is twenty-something but I don't think quite 25, so no badge as yet. Certainly I joined before we met at Jane's class in Chelmsford. What year was that?

  3. Sure you don't qualify for a badge in that case? I joined Sept 92, we started college that month too. The one year compulsory pre C&G which Chelmsford did. I qualify for my badge next year.

  4. Then I must be the same - I think I joined in the summer when I had signed up for the class but before the autumn. When I first started I knew no one until I did a workshop, which I think was with Pam Watts.
